Collaboration | Makeup Love Story

I had an amazing time collaborating with Sylvia Luu of Makeup Love Story. Personally, I love the vintage throwback style and so did she, so we decided to experiment with a vintage retro look. Sylvia did a wonderful job on the makeup. Our model is Katharine Lahmann, and she pulled off the look very well. The photographs were taken at the end of Summer this year, and we were able to capture the final hour of light at dusk. Look out for more ammé photographie and Makeup Love Story collaborations in the near future!

Wedding | Lisa & Chris

For Lisa and Chris, their friends and family are a source of light that inspires them in their relationship, faith, and values. They celebrated their special day together with their loved ones on the night of The Celebration of Lights fireworks in Vancouver, BC. Their wedding day couldn't be more perfect. The weather was nice and warm, everything was on time, and everybody was having a blast. Thanks to my dear friend Kyla, one of the bridesmaids, who hired us to help capture Lisa and Chris' wedding. She's such a sweetheart and gifted a wedding cinematic short to her friends as a present. We are so glad to have been there to not only document their wedding, but to witness the love and bond of Lisa and Chris. They are both very hardworking, sweet, and honest, and in each other's presence they both light up and spread joy to people around them. Congratulations once again Lisa & Chris!

Friendship | Fiona & Theresa

We first met in 7th grade during P.E. class. We were assigned seats, and she sat in front of me. There were not many familiar faces in the class, and knowing myself, I did not wish to run laps around the field alone. So at that moment, I decided to gather up my courage and awkwardly introduced myself to Fiona. And I'm glad I did.

We have always been there for each other. Fiona has always been one of my pillars of support. Despite going to different schools, it did not stop us from keeping in touch. We prefer snail mail over emails, and enjoy sending each other parcels for special occasions. Eleven years later, I am blessed and grateful to still call her my best friend.

Thank you Marie for capturing our silly moments together.

Even longer,' Pooh answered."

Wedding | Christina & Jonathan

Christina and Jonathan's wedding was all about celebration. Celebrating their unity and love for each other. Celebrating with their family and friends. And celebrating their Jewish tradition, which they greatly value. They even had their ceremony inside the Celebration Pavilion at Queen Elizabeth Park. We thoroughly enjoyed photographing the bridal preparations at the  Beauté Légère salon. It was very sleek and modern, the staff were very accommodating, and they even had a nicely lit room for the preparations. Christina looked stunning in her dress. Everything was coming together, and we knew it was going to be a great wedding. As our first Jewish wedding, we learned so much about the wedding traditions. It was quite fascinating from the beautiful chuppah (canopy) where the wedding couple stood underneath to the signing of the Ketubah. Their good friend was even the Rabbi for their wedding ceremony. At the beginning of the ceremony, the bride circles around the groom seven times, which has a lot of meaning behind it such as the bride and the groom creating their new world together in "seven" days. As the day progressed, things were looking even brighter, including the weather. The sun was shining and everyone looked radiant during our photo session at the park.

When we arrived at the reception, we knew we were expecting a big party during the introduction of the Christina and Jonathan as newly weds, but we really didn't know what to expect. It was filled with so much dancing, cheering, chair raising, jumping, and so much energy. It was definitely intense, but we were so glad to be a part of it and to capture these special moments for them. The atmosphere was amazing at the reception. Christina and Jonathan hired Collin Bullock, who coincidentally sang in Whistler just as Jonathan proposed. He was amazing live and really sounded better than on a CD. We were also glad to have our friends, Lavish Design Group, provide the decor at the reception and made everything look so pretty. We have been blessed to have such a sweet couple who love our work and trust us to document their special day.

Thank you Christina and Jonathan for having us at your wedding and we wish you and Sherbert (their dog) the best in your lives together!
